Cap3 wins UBA tender

For the EU LIFE project “AskReach”, which from Federal Environment Agency (UBA) Launched together with 19 project partners from 13 EU member states, Cap3 GmbH won the UBAS call for proposals.
According to the European Chemicals Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), consumers have the right to information about “substances of very high concern” in products (REACH Art. 33, paragraph 2).
After the development of the Germans Scan4Chem app, which facilitated the inquiry process to product suppliers, is now followed by the AskREACH project, whose stated aim is to draw attention to REACH consumer law within the European population in order to elicit more conscious purchasing decisions.
For this purpose, the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) a Europe-wide smartphone app that will be linked to a database in which product suppliers can enter and manage information about substances of concern in their articles. EU citizens can make inquiries about articles via the smartphone app and therefore ideally receive direct information about substances of concern in the scanned product. If no information about an item is stored, the consumer can submit an enquiry to the supplier.
Cap3 is responsible for the design and implementation of the application, which allows consumer inquiries to be processed and information about substances of concern can be stored in articles. We are pleased to contribute to more conscious consumer behavior within the European population.
